The recent building works at Our Lady of the Rosary Primary School at Shelly Beach, Caloundra, has seen the creation of an image of Mary MacKillop created using Austral Bricks™.
“No, this isn’t a miracle, it is skilled craftsmanship by architects, Deicke Richards, and local bricklayer Paul Kelly,” said Principal Col O’Brien.
An image of the soon to be saint is featured on a wall at the school and has been met with delight from teachers, students and parents.
“We have had this mural planned for years and it is really exciting to have this finished in time for her canonisation. Everyone who has seen it has admired it and we are really pleased,” said Mr. O’Brien.
Austral Bricks’ Queensland Marketing & Retail Sales Manager, Eve Castle, said, “This has been an exciting project. Over the past year, Austral has produced several murals of Brick Art™ around the country. Bricks provide a colour palette for craftsmen to create almost anything. They are only limited now by their imagination.”
